Motorhome Furniture

Living a life of travel and adventure — on the wide-open road — without ever needing to leave the comfort and convenience of your own home is the dream of every RV owner. Whether you are a full-time or part-time RVer, you know how important it is to stock your home with highly functional furniture that is safe and secure.

RVs are almost like our second homes. You get to travel and enjoy the luxuries of a home or hotel. Manufacturers try to fit in the best possible furniture inside them. Not all RVs are created equal. Obviously, there are constraints and also cost comes into the picture.

RV Furniture Installation

An RV is a home away from home for many people. The furniture, tables, and chairs in an RV is standard for safety and flexibility. RV furniture can be a little drab, so many people choose to install new furniture. New RV furniture can come from the dealership or be installed by the owner.

Can you put regular furniture in an RV? Yes, an RV can be outfitted with regular furniture. Any household furniture with the proper dimensions can be secured into an RV. However, regular furniture does require some installation adjustments, which keep the passengers, drivers, and RV safe for the open road.

However, the ability to optimize the RV’s space and maintain comfort while road-tripping by far outweigh any disadvantages.

All furniture can become RV furniture. There are a few considerations to make before you choose the do-it-yourself option over a dealership. Things to keep in mind include the type of furniture you want, what you want to change, and where to find the furniture.

Furnishing your RV with regular furniture gives you more control over the look and feel of your RV. You get to play interior designer on a rolling residence rather than a house. There are advantages and disadvantages to both the RV furniture that comes stock and the regular furniture you install.

Home Furniture and  RV Furniture

This is something many people wonder about, especially those who want to replace RV furniture with Home Furniture. The answer is yes you can replace RV furniture with home furniture provided it is not too heavy and can fit inside the RV without any issues.

Firstly, you will need to understand the fact that your RV is not just another ordinary truck. It's like a small home. The only difference between your RV and a regular home is that your RV is a mini house that has wheels. In most cases, you will not be able to use regular house furniture in your RV. Keep in mind that you will need to put the type of furniture that has a lightweight design. This is to minimize the weight on RV.

Apart from that, you will also need to make sure that the furniture that you planned to put in your RV isn’t very old and most preferably new. It's obvious why someone would want a very 10-year-old couch inside your on-the-wheel home. An older sofa or bed will also mean an older design that could be heavier. It’s highly recommended for you to use a set of furniture that is new and has high-quality so that you will be able to use the furniture for a good amount of time.

All RV furniture needs to be bolted down that is available in your RV to prevent it from sliding or moving around when you are driving your RV. One of the most important factors that you will need to consider if you decide to use a set of regular home furniture in your RV is the amount of space that is available in your RV.

RV Furniture Is Lightweight

RV manufacturers must keep in mind the total weight in which the things inside the RV weighs. So, RV furniture is designed to be functional but lightweight so it gives the owner the highest cargo carrying capacity possible. When making major changes like this, it’s important to remember the impact it will have on the weight and balance on the interior. The same idea applies if you install all marble floors and granite countertops. Making this change will add lots of extra weight on the inside, and you’ll need to take that into consideration when picking up for your next trip.

Jackknife Sofa

A jackknife sofa in an RV is a couch that can be pulled out to make a bed. The only thing you have to do is pull down on the seat, then lay it flat. Jackknife sofas are also popular because they are much more affordable than their hide-a-bed counterparts

The Jackknife sofa is perfect for spaces where a standard bifold sofa just won't fit. Available in widths ranging from 36" to 84", the Jackknife has a standard 15" tall back and 20" deep seat and can be further customized with a center fold-out cup holder, armrests, headrests, and a stunning variety of fabrics.

RV Theater Seating & Recliner Sofa

While offering long-lasting comfort like home theater, RV recliners are compact and take very little space with a power recline. These steel frame recliners are built tough and rugged for the road. We know that after a long day on the road you’re ready to sit back and relax in comfort.

RV Tables & Dinettes Tables

Every item in your RV has a level of importance either it's RV tables, RV Chairs, RV Dinette for dining areas. From the valances and balances to the hitches and the switches, every item makes a difference to the performance and overall look of your RV. You want your RV to stand out and stay solid as you travel the highways and bi-ways of this beautiful country.

While most items are out of sight and out of mind there’s one item that you, your family, and guests utilize almost every day but don’t consider the importance of; your RV table Size. Generally, RV dining table sizes vary depending on each model. While the largest size is 50” x 80”, the smallest dinette is 34” x 64”. Essentially, small dinettes are supposed to provide a seat for four people and a sleeper for two children.

If your table or captain chair isn't level and it slides around in place, you can fix the table by leveling the mount and reinforcing it with shims. If these screws come out easily but are flush with your floor, get some slightly longer and bigger wood screws. For example, if you have #5 screws, get some #6 screws.

RV Sofas

RV sofa is typically a sofa or couch that, underneath its seating cushions, hides a metal frame and thin mattress that can be unfolded or opened up to make a bed. A western-style futon differs from a sofa bed, although sofa beds using futon mattresses are common.

A high-quality foam gives better support, molds to the body, and snaps back to shape. Consider the following factors of a high-quality sofa bed mattress.  Quality foam sofa bed mattresses compress as needed, the foam acting like an infinite number of springs.
