BLACK NITRIDE SHAFT GAS SPRINGS

ISO/TS 16949 & ISO 9001:2000 Certified / 2 Year Warranty

GAS SPRING FIT AND SELECTION

If you already have a gas spring installed, selecting a replacement can be as simple as A-B-C.Remove the spring from its mounting brackets.

  1. Measure the extended length from center mounting hole to center mounting hole (see “A” in diagram below).
  2. Measure the amount of piston that is exposed while extended. This is called the stroke of the gas (see “C” in diagram below).
  3. Using our simple to read chart, find the extended length that is the closest to your current unit. Then use either the stroke measurement or subtract the stroke from extended and select the compressed sizes that are closest to your current

(The measurements do not have to be exact but the closer you can match the original the easier it will be to install.)

SELECTING THE FORCE - If your current spring has a stamped label, the force should be listed within that number. Usually, the last two digits or followed by the letter N which is Newtons. One pound equals 4.4482 Newtons. This is the pounds of force being exerted to open or hold open the door or platform. It does not equal the weight of the item being lifted. Trial and error is not the best way to find that number.

Selecting a gas spring for a project that does not already have brackets installed can be a much harder task. This normally requires a computer program and numerous measurements to make sure they operate properly.

Proper Disposal Requirements:

  1. Caution, safety glasses and protective gloves should be worn for this
  2. Secure the gas spring using a vise with the piston end tilted down at least 30 degrees, let stand in this position for 30-60 seconds to allow the oil to settle in the lower section of the
  3. Caution, a gas substance will escape during this Using a tubing cutter or hacksaw, cut the top end of the tube 1/2” down from the welded end fitting or stud.
  4. Place the tube open end down in an approved container to drain the remaining
  5. Once tube has drained, discard the gas spring as approved for other metal

Return Policy

We don't want to see you stuck with a part that is not right for your application, or that you no longer need.  We issue refunds every day to make sure our customers have a positive purchase experience.  All these are issued as refunds, we do not maintain store credits. Returns must be initiated within 30 days of receiving the order.

However, for various policy, safety, and regulatory reasons, a small number of items are non-returnable for credit.  These are normally noted on the product page and visible at the time of purchase.  See our Returns Policy for full details on product returnability.

For orders where the item has been received is incorrect, defective or has been damaged in transit, we will pay return shipping and either replace the item or refund the amount paid, at the customer's discretion.

If the reason for the return is different, the customer is responsible for inbound and outbound shipping costs.  Shipping costs paid on the original order are non-refundable.  For orders shipped free on our $99 Free Shipping offer, an amount may be deducted from your refund to cover outbound shipping costs if returned.

Special Orders are normally non-cancellable and non-returnable because a lot of additional work must be performed to obtain a special order part that is not ordered very often.  If we are able to facilitate a special order return, you may have up to a 30% restocking fee deducted from your refund to cover manufacturer restocking fees and other associated costs.

Refunds can only be returned to the same method of payment that was originally used to pay for the order.

Free Shipping Offer

Orders qualify for our Free Shipping Offer only if the total value of items on a single order exceeds $99.00 before taxes. Multiple orders to the same address must each exceed the $99.00 threshold to qualify for free shipping. All free shipping items include shipment ONLY via an economy Ground Service of our choosing, with a delivery standard of 1 to 9 days. You may have the option of a paid upgrade to a higher level of service if delivery is required in a shorter time frame.

Tailgate Charges levied by carriers for delivery of LTL Transport shipments to residences or other locations without a dock or forklift truck are not included in the free shipping service and are the responsibility of the customer.

Orders shipping outside the 48 contiguous US states or 10 Canadian provinces do not qualify for the Free Shipping Offer.

Items shipped free of charge and subsequently returned will be subject to a restocking charge equivalent to the costs of outbound shipping, except in cases where we have made a material error in fulfilling your order.  In this case, customers are also responsible for return shipping costs.

General Shipping Standards

Current shipping lead times are detailed on each product page and are based on the location of stocked items.  In the vast majority of cases, we are able to ship in-stock products the next business day for orders placed before 4 pm Eastern time Monday through Thursday and before noon on Sunday for Monday delivery. Any items displaying shipping lead times greater than 1-2 Business Days will ship in the time frame indicated.

Note that in multi-product purchases, shipping costs are calculated based on the combined shipment weight of all items.  If individual items within an order have varying lead times, the order will not ship until all items are available for shipment.

Special Order Items average a shipping lead time of about three weeks.

Back Orders

If there is an error in our data and we identify that one or more products on your order are back-ordered, you will be advised of the estimated shipping date for those products and you may cancel those items without penalty prior to shipping.

Special Order Products

Special Order products are defined as items that are not normally stocked by us and must be obtained direct from the manufacturer.  Please confirm that the shipping lead time for any special order products (generally about three weeks) meets your scheduling needs (if any) as Special Order Product orders cannot be cancelled after they have been placed with the manufacturer.  (see Returns Policy/“Special Order Products” below.)

Credit Card Charging Policy

Our policy is to charge the amount of your purchase with your credit card issuer at the time of order so it can be released to our internal systems for processing. This may be a day or two in advance of shipping the product. In the case of special orders, prepayment is required regardless of our lead time to ship (Returns Policy/Special Order Products below.)

USA Shipments
